About a week and a half ago, Quinto Sol opened in RWC. It's another restaurant in the group as Palo Alto Sol on California Ave.
The space is _beautiful_. Exposed beams, several layers, internally lit bar, pretty snazzy. Not very packed tables. Big windows.
The bar seems good. The margerita was very solid. Wine is another N2 on-tap system, and a decent selection of taps (more unusual mexican beers like Victora (still a macrobeer), and some of the usual suspects of the west coast).
Menu is about like Palo Alto Sol, which I am honestly not that fond of. There's a few interesting dishes, like the "trio albondigas" with 3 sauces and 3 meatballs.
The Chicken Guihillo (SP) was interesting, but like a toned-down Indian Butter Chicken. Beans were pretty good (nice cheese melt on top)
Tortillas are machine made
The bartender said they're permitted for outside seating, but haven't built it yet, and they designed for balcony seating, but haven't done that yet.
Compared to a few of the other mexican choices in the area, I really prefer the food at Milagros. Downscale, we hit Casita Chilanga two days ago, and (for what it was) super tasty --- and those tortas bigger than your head. Compared to Reposado, I like reposado for both food and the beauty of the room.
I really liked Quinto Sol on the late side of monday. The place was empty (they said friday was a crush, which I saw).
