Went to Westlake Joe's last week, purely for ambiance (where else can you find Googie style cofee house architecture with steak and cocktail lounge in Northern California?!) though I have to say it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. We sent back two ribsteaks which were inedible. I ordered the hamburger steak after returning my ribeye hoping that it would fare better but it still came back way overcooked and flavorless. It's not even comparable to Original Joe's. I love the space itself and will return for a drink (although even the manhattan I ordered tasted like the bartender spilled the vermouth!) but the food is absolutely horrendous. We didn't go with lofty expectations but were all sorely disappointed. Service was even worse, which is saying a lot. It's too bad because it could be a great place if they made some changes in the kitchen!
